Sotripentol is an anticonvulsant. It’s mainly used for treating Dravet syndrome, often with other medicines. It boosts the GABAergic system, which helps manage seizures.
You can get this drug in two strengths: 250 mg and 500 mg capsules. The dose depends on how much they weigh. Usually, it’s 50 mg for every kilo they weigh, and they take it a few times a day.
The medicine comes in bottles, and each one has 60 capsules. Sotripentol works by making the brain chemical GABA more effective. It targets the central nervous system to possibly lower how often and how bad seizures get, especially in Dravet syndrome.
