Daprodustat is an inhibitor of HIF-PH, and it’s used to treat anemia in adults with kidney problems. It helps boost the production of red blood cells, which is what we call erythropoiesis. The medicine comes in tablet form, with doses from 1 to 8 milligrams.
The starting dose for grown-ups is usually 4 mg, taken every day. It might change depending on how the person’s body reacts and their hemoglobin levels. Daprodustat comes in bottles with 30 pills in each.
Daprodustat isn’t meant to take the place of other treatments for anemia, like getting blood transfusions or taking iron supplements, unless the doctor says it’s needed.
