Capivasertib is an AKT inhibitor. It’s used for treating breast cancer patients who have certain changes in their hormones, HER2, and some genes like PIK3CA, AKT1, and PTEN. It works by stopping the AKT signaling process.
You can get the drug in two doses: 200 mg and 400 mg tablets. The usual dose is 400 mg, twice a day, for 4 days, then you take a 3-day break. Each bottle has 64 tablets.
You use Capivasertib in cycles: 4 days of taking it every day, then 3 days off, and you keep doing that as your doctor tells you.
