Brigatinib is a type of medicine that blocks a protein called ALK. It’s used to treat a certain kind of lung cancer that has spread. It’s made to stop a process called ALK signaling, which helps cancer tumors grow and spread.
They make it in three sizes: 30, 90, and 180 milligrams, all in film-coated tablets. You start with 90 mg a day for the first week. After that, you’ll take 180 mg daily.
One bottle has 30 pills, which should last you a month if you’re on the 90 mg dose at first. You take it by mouth, and you keep on taking it even on weekends. You usually just keep taking it as long as it’s helping and keeping you safe.
