Momelotinib is a JAK1/2 inhibitor, and it’s used specifically to treat anemia in people with myelofibrosis. Momelotinib works by blocking JAK1 and JAK2, enzymes that are part of a pathway triggered by IL-6, which plays a role in causing myelofibrosis. By stopping these enzymes, momelotinib helps shrink the spleen and reduce inflammation.
You can get momelotinib in two doses—100 mg and 200 mg—and they’re both coated. For adults, the suggested dose is 200 mg every day. Each bottle comes with 30 tablets.
You need to start and watch your treatment with someone who knows a lot about dealing with myelofibrosis.
