Afatinib is an inhibitor, mainly used for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. It’s designed to hit EGFR and HER2 specifically. It works by blocking EGFR signaling pathways.
This makes it effective when there are specific changes in the EGFR gene, like deletions in exon 19 or the L858R mutation in exon 21. The drug is available in tablet form with different strengths—20 mg, 30 mg, or 40 mg. The suggested amount to take is 40 mg per day.
It’s best taken on an empty stomach. Each bottle has 30 tablets in a pack.
