Sunitinib is a medicine that blocks multiple kinases. It’s used to treat RCC, GIST, and neuroendocrine tumors in the pancreas. It mainly blocks kinases like VEGFR and PDGFR, among others.
You can get this drug in capsules, in three different strengths: 12.5 mg, 25 mg, and 50 mg. For adults, the normal dose is 50 mg a day, taken every day for 4 weeks. Then, take a break for 2 weeks.
This whole cycle is 6 weeks long. Each cycle has 28 capsules, all neatly packed in bottles so you can grab them easily. You can take the capsules with or without food.
Just keep taking the same dose through your treatment unless your doctor tells you differently.
