Avatrombopag is a TPO receptor stimulator. It’s used to treat low platelet counts in chronic liver issues and a condition called Immune Thrombocytopenia, or ITP. You’ll find it in 20 mg tablets, and the doc usually suggests taking one tablet each day with your meals.
The tablets come in bottles with 30 in each. It boosts platelet numbers by connecting to something called the thrombopoietin receptor, a protein on the outside of these cell types. When this receptor gets turned on, it helps the megakaryocytes grow and develop, which helps to make more platelets.
Thrombocytopenia is when you’ve got not enough platelets. This can cause bruising and bleeding more easily.
