Erlotinib is a type of EGFR inhibitor. It’s used to treat lung cancer and pancreas cancer in folks who have EGFR mutations. It works by blocking that EGFR stuff, which in turn keeps cancer cells from growing and spreading.
You can get Erlotinib in three doses: 25 mg, 100 mg, and 150 mg, all as these coated tablets. Most grown-ups take 150 mg every day, and it’s best on an empty stomach. The drug comes in bottles with 30 tablets inside.
A doc will decide on the treatment plan, based on what works for you and your cancer.
