Olaparib is a type of drug called a PARP inhibitor. It’s used to treat certain kinds of cancer that have BRCA mutations, like ovarian, breast, pancreatic, and prostate cancers. It works by stopping cancer cells from fixing their DNA.
You can get it in 100 mg and 150 mg doses. But the usual amount to take is 300 mg, twice a day. You can take it with or without eating.
Each bottle holds 60 of those film-coated pills. How it works is by stopping an enzyme called PARP. This enzyme is important for fixing DNA.
You’re supposed to take it every day, and sticking to the schedule is super important for it to work well. People might have side effects from it, so it’s a good idea to use it with a doctor’s help.
