Sunitinib is a specific kind of cancer treatment that helps with RCC, GIST, and pancreatic NETs. It’s one of those multi-kinase inhibitors – think of it as a drug that blocks several enzymes to keep cancer cells from growing and spreading. Sunitinib goes after specific types of kinases, like VEGFR and PDGFR, among others.
You can get it in three strengths – 12.5, 25, or 50 mg, and it comes in pill form. You’re supposed to take 50 mg a day for four weeks straight, then take a two-week break, making it a six-week cycle. The pills come in bottles with 28 capsules in each one.
