Tivozanib is a special kind of inhibitor that zeros in on VEGFRs. These receptors are super important for something called angiogenesis. It’s used to treat a type of cancer known as advanced renal cell carcinoma, or RCC.
You got two dose options here, 890 micrograms in one type of capsule, and 1.34 milligrams in the other. You take 1.34 milligrams of it every day for 21 days. Then, you take a break for 7 days, which is your cycle, a whole 28 days.
You can take Tivozanib with or without eating. And you’ll find it in bottles with 21 capsules. The whole point of this treatment plan is to cut off the blood supply to tumors and stop them from growing, thanks to the way it affects angiogenesis.
