Sunitinib is a kind of drug that’s mostly used to treat kidney cancer, a type of tumor called GIST, and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. It stops different kinases, like VEGFR and PDGFR, which help tumors grow and blood vessels form. You can get this drug in capsules, and it comes in 12.5, 25, or 50 mg doses.
Doctors usually suggest taking 50 mg of this stuff once a day for 4 weeks, and then you get a break for 2 weeks before starting again. Each bottle has 28 capsules, which is enough for one full cycle of treatment.
