Elacestrant is a SERD (Selective Estrogen Receptor Degrader) used to treat ER /HER2breast cancer, specifically targeting ER signaling. This stuff comes in two different strengths—86 mg and 345 mg tablets, all with a film coating. You’re supposed to take the 345 mg dose once a day, ideally with some food to help with the tummy.
It comes in bottles with 30 tablets in each. So, as a SERD, it sort of breaks down estrogen receptors and makes estrogen less powerful when it comes to helping the tumor grow. This one’s part of a group of drugs that might not work so well if you’re already resistant to regular hormone treatments.
There’s a risk of some side effects like bone issues, hot flashes, dealing with infections, and feeling super tired.
