Capivasertib is a pill that’s used to treat breast cancer. It’s given to people whose breast cancer has certain mutations in their PIK3CA, AKT1, or PTEN genes. This kind of cancer is hormone receptor positive, or HR , and it’s not affected by HER2.
It stops the AKT signaling pathway from working. The pill comes in two sizes, 200 mg and 400 mg. You take 400 mg of the pill two times a day for 4 days in a row, then take a 3-day break.
Each bottle’s got 64 pills, and when you follow the 400 mg twice a day dose, it gives you 32 servings in total.
