Afatinib is a drug that blocks EGFR and HER2. It’s used to treat lung cancer, especially in cases with certain gene changes, like EGFR 19 deletions or L858R mutations. It’s made to stop EGFR from sending out signals.
You can get it in 20, 30, or 40 mg doses. The usual amount is 40 mg, taken every day. The pills have a coating and need to be taken on an empty stomach.
