Selpercatinib is a special kind of medicine that targets the RET protein. It’s used to treat a type of lung cancer called RET-fusion NSCLC, medullary thyroid cancer, and other cancers that have changes in the RET gene. The way it works is by stopping the RET kinase from doing its thing.
You can get this medicine in two strengths—40 mg and 80 mg, both in capsule form. The usual dose for adults is 160 mg, taken two times a day. It doesn’t matter if you take it with or without food.
Each bottle comes with 60 capsules. The plan is to take one 80 mg pill and one 40 mg pill every 12 hours.
