Ivosidenib is designed to target a particular gene called IDH1. It’s mainly used for people with a type of cancer called AML that comes back or doesn’t respond to other treatments and has an IDH1 gene mutation. It works by stopping cancer cells from multiplying by going after a changed IDH1 enzyme.
You can get this drug in 250 mg tablets. The usual amount to take is 500 mg per day, and you just swallow it. These come in bottles with 60 tablets in each.
You’re supposed to take this pill with some food so it absorbs better and to keep stomach issues to a minimum.
