Ponatinib is an inhibitor for BCR-ABL, which is used to treat CML and Ph ALL. These types of leukemia don’t respond to older TKIs. It’s like a multi-tool inhibitor, hitting on lots of kinases that help cancer cells keep growing.
You can get ponatinib in two doses – 15 mg and 45 mg, both in the form of film-coated tablets. The usual dose is 45 mg, once a day, no matter if you have it with food or not. These tablets come in bottles with 30 in each.
