So,brigatinib is like a special blocker for a thing called anaplastic lymphoma kinase, or ALK for short. It’s mainly used for a type of lung cancer that’s caused by a problem with ALK. They make brigatinib in these tablet forms: 30, 90, or 180 milligrams.
For the first week, you take 90 mg of it once a day, then after that, you switch to 180 mg a day. You’ll get these in bottles, with 30 pills in each one. Brigatinib tries to mess with how this specific protein does its job, which is stopping it from phosphorylating itself.
By slowing down that ALK thing, it stops the cancer cells from growing and spreading, which helps keep that lung cancer in check.
