Ponatinib is a cancer drug that’s designed to target and block certain enzymes, like BCR-ABL. It’s mostly used for people with chronic myeloid leukemia or Ph ALL who can’t handle other kinase inhibitors anymore. You can get Ponatinib in two strengths: 15 mg and 45 mg, both in the form of coated pills.
The usual dose for adults is 45 mg, taken every day, and you can take it with or without eating. The medication comes in bottles with 30 tablets, so that’s about a month’s supply following the normal dosage. You really need to keep an eye out for any side effects or problems while you’re on the drug.
