Trametinib is an MEK inhibitor. It’s used to treat BRAF V600E/K-mutant melanoma and NSCLC. It stops MEK signaling.
You can get it in two strengths: 0.5 mg and 2 mg, both in film-coated tablets. The usual dose is 2 mg, taken once a day on an empty stomach. The tablets come in bottles, each with 30 pills.
The thing that does the work blocks this protein, MEK, which helps control cell growth and division. It’s usually too active in cancer cells. Trametinib works to slow or stop cancer cell growth by cutting down this overactivity.
