Capmatinib is a drug that focuses on stopping a specific part of cancer cells. It’s used to treat a type of lung cancer that skips a certain part of its MET gene. It works by targeting the MET protein to stop cancer cells from growing and you take it in pill form.
You can get these pills in doses of 150 and 200 milligrams, but usually, doctors suggest taking 400 mg twice a day. You can take it with or without meals. The medication comes in bottles filled with 60 film-coated pills.
This treatment goes after a protein that helps tumors grow, especially in tumors that have a change that makes too many of the MET protein active.
