Anagrelide is used to treat essential thrombocythemia. It’s a blood condition where platelets are overproduced. It works by stopping the maturation of megakaryocytes—these are the cells that make platelets.
The capsules are 0.5 mg each. You usually take them four times a day. The dose can be changed based on what works best for each person.
One bottle has 100 capsules. It’s enough for a 25-day stretch if you’re on the highest dose.
