Olaparib is designed to block the PARP enzyme. It’s used to treat cancers caused by BRCA mutations, like ovarian, breast, pancreas, and prostate ones. There are tablets in 100 and 150 mg doses with a coating.
The usual dosage is 300 mg taken two times each day, whether on an empty stomach or with meals. You need to follow your doctor’s directions when you take it. Each pack has 60 tablets.
It keeps cancer cells from repairing their DNA, leading to them dying out. You should store it in a dry place, away from direct sunlight, and make sure kids can’t get to it. If you’re allergic to olaparib or other parts in the med, it’s a no-go.
