Ixazomib is a proteasome inhibitor. It’s used for treating multiple myeloma. You take it at a dose of 4 mg, once a week.
You do this on days 1, 8, and 15 every 28 days. You can get the drug in 3 mg or 4 mg capsules. Each blister pack has three capsules.
How it works is by screwing up the way cancer cells get rid of their old proteins. It comes in different sizes, like 2.3 mg, 3 mg, and the standard 4 mg capsules. For what we’re using it for, the 4 mg capsules are what you’d want to take.
