Afatinib is an inhibitor that targets EGFR/HER2, mainly used to treat non-small cell lung cancer. It works specifically for cancer caused by certain changes in the EGFR gene. The drug’s main job is to block signals that EGFR uses.
You can get Afatinib in doses of 20, 30, or 40 milligrams, and they come in coated pills. The suggested dose is 40 mg and you’re supposed to take it once every day, ideally on an empty stomach. The tablets usually come in bottles of 30 pills each.
