Gefitinib is used to treat advanced lung cancer, especially when there are specific mutations like EGFR 19 deletion or L858R. It’s a type of medicine called a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It comes as a 250 mg tablet coated with film.
If you have lung cancer with the right mutation, you should take 250 mg of Gefitinib every day. You can take it with or without eating, and it usually comes in bottles with 30 pills. It’s meant to stop the EGFR signal from helping cancer cells grow and live.
If you don’t have the right kind of lung cancer mutation, you shouldn’t be taking this med.
