Ponatinib is a type of BCR-ABL inhibitor. It’s used to treat two specific types of cancer – Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) and Philadelphia Chromosome-positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Ph ALL). This is for patients who have tried other TKIs and didn’t work for them.
It goes after several different kinases. You can get this as a tablet. They come in two sizes: 15 mg and 45 mg.
The usual dose is 45 mg, taken every day. You can take it with or without food. These tablets come in bottles, each holding 30 tablets.
