Capivasertib is an AKT inhibitor. It’s specially made for HR /HER2 breast cancer patients who have PIK3CA/AKT1/PTEN gene changes. It works by stopping AKT signaling, which is a big deal in how cancer cells grow and multiply.
You can get it in two strengths: 200 mg and 400 mg. But the one doctors usually suggest is 400 mg, taken two times a day. The way you take it is four days on, three days off.
Each pack has 64 pills, which should last you for ten days on the recommended schedule. You’re supposed to take the pill by mouth. It doesn’t matter if you take it with or without food.
