Vigabatrin is this thing that blocks an enzyme, and it’s used to help with really tough epilepsy and those little spasms in babies. So, it boosts up this brain chemical called GABA, which is like the chill-out neurotransmitter, keeping the brain’s electricals in check. You can get it as 500 mg pills or in a powder form in little packets.
You’re supposed to take it between 1 to 3 grams a day, spread out throughout the day so you don’t get too many side effects. It usually comes in bottles with 100 tablets, so one bottle should last you about a month if you’re taking the most you can (3 grams a day). You should keep an eye on your liver with those tests while you’re on it.
You might feel a bit sleepy, tired, or like you’re wobbly on your feet. Also, it can mess with other drugs you’re taking.
