Eltrombopag is mainly used to treat low platelet levels, a condition known as thrombocytopenia. It’s prescribed for ITP and chronic hepatitis C. It helps boost platelet production in your bone marrow.
You can get it in three strengths: 25 mg, 50 mg, and 75 mg. They usually recommend taking 50 mg once every day. These pills are coated for better absorption.
Make sure to take them on an empty stomach. They come in bottles with 30 pills each.
