Ponatinib is a drug that targets a certain protein, BCR-ABL. It’s used to treat a type of cancer called chronic myeloid leukemia and another called Ph ALL when they don’t respond to other kinds of treatment. It actually hits a bunch of different kinase proteins.
There are two doses – 15 mg and 45 mg. Doctors usually suggest taking 45 mg every day, and you can take it with or without food. The pills have a coating, and they come in bottles with 30 tablets inside.
