Crizotinib is a special kind of inhibitor that goes after the ALK, ROS1, and MET receptors. These are kinases, which are like switches in our cells, and they play a role in making some lung cancers grow, especially the ones that are positive for ALK or ROS1. The drug does its job by stopping these kinases from working, which in turn slows down or stops the cancer cells from growing.
You’re supposed to take 250 mg of crizotinib, twice a day, whether you eat or not, so that it absorbs best. It comes in capsule form, and you’ve got two strengths to choose from: 200 mg and 250 mg. The 250 mg capsules are what they usually recommend for the regular treatment.
Each bottle has 60 capsules in it.
