Trametinib is an inhibitor of MEK. It’s used to treat melanoma with the BRAF V600E/K mutation and non-small cell lung cancer. It works by stopping MEK signaling.
There are two strengths: 0.5 mg and 2 mg. They come as coated pills. Doctors usually suggest taking 2 mg of Trametinib every day on an empty stomach.
The tablets are sold in bottles with 30 in each. So, you get about a 15-day supply of the 2 mg dose. Trametinib’s way of working and the dose it’s given are meant to help patients as much as possible while trying to keep the side effects in check.
