Anagrelide is used to lower platelet counts in people with essential thrombocythemia. It stops the growth of big cells called megakaryocytes. You get it in 0.5 mg capsules.
The usual dose is 0.5 mg, four times a day, but it can be changed if needed. A bottle has 100 capsules. The dosage is just right for each person.
It helps manage essential thrombocythemia and cuts down the chances of blood clots. It works by blocking a specific receptor, which lowers the number of megakaryocytes, and in turn, platelets in your blood.
