It’s been created to specifically target acute myeloid leukemia with FLT3 mutations. This includes when the disease has come back or when standard treatments haven’t worked. Gilteritinib tablets work by stopping the FLT3 kinase, which in turn helps slow the rapid growth of leukemia cells.
You’ll find Gilteritinib as film-coated 40 mg tablets. You’re usually recommended to take 120 mg of Gilteritinib, one time a day. It comes in bottles that usually hold 90 tablets each.
Gilteritinib is only for taking by mouth, and right now it’s only supposed to be used for specific situations.
