Asciminib is a special kind of medicine made just for treating CML when other treatments don’t work. It works by focusing on a tiny spot on the ABL protein. By targeting this spot, it helps stop cancer cells from growing.
You can get it in two strengths – 20 mg and 40 mg, both in these easy-to-swallow tablets. For grown-ups, you either take 80 mg once a day or 40 mg, twice a day – it all depends on how your body takes it. These come in bottles with 60 tablets – that’s a month’s worth if you’re taking it once a day, or about 2 weeks if you’re taking it twice a day.
