Asciminib is a special treatment for CML patients that don’t respond to other treatments. It specifically blocks something called the BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase, which is a big problem protein in CML. Asciminib is made to hit a spot on the ABL protein called the myristoyl pocket, which is super important for how the kinase works.
You can get this med in two doses—20 mg and 40 mg—and they come as tablets with a coating. For adults, you might take either 80 mg in one shot, which is two 40 mg tabs, or 40 mg twice a day, two 20 mg tabs each time, based on what your doctor says. It comes in bottles with 60 tablets each.
