Avatrombopag is used to treat low platelet counts, often seen in liver disease or ITP. It helps by making more platelets. You can get it as 20 mg pills, with a coating.
You’re supposed to take 20 mg of it every day with your meals. Each bottle holds 30 of these pills. Make sure to take it just like your doctor tells you and follow the dosing guide.
Don’t use it if you haven’t had treatment for low platelets before, if you’ve had certain blood cancers, or if your platelet count is way high unless your doctor says it’s okay and you’re being watched closely.
