Ivosidenib is a medicine that blocks the IDH1 protein, used for treating AML that keeps coming back or doesn’t respond to other treatments, especially when there’s a change in the IDH1 gene. It works by stopping the faulty IDH1 enzyme, which is more active than it should be in cancer cells. You get it in 250 mg pills, but the usual amount you take is 500 mg, and you just take one of those a day with food.
Each bottle has 60 tablets in it. It stops the IDH1 enzyme from doing its thing, which messes up how the cancer cells get their energy and slows down how much they multiply.
