Lorlatinib is a newer type of medicine that targets ALK and ROS1, used for people with advanced lung cancer who’ve already tried other ALK treatments. It goes after these proteins called ALK and ROS1 to stop cancer cells from growing. You can get it in 2 strengths, either 25 mg or 100 mg, both in a coated tablet form.
The usual dose is 100 mg, taken every day. It doesn’t matter if you take it with or without eating. It comes in bottles with 30 tablets each.
The stuff in lorlatinib really stops those ALK and ROS1 kinases from doing their cancer-promoting thing. This therapy helps beat the resistance cancer cells have built up against other ALK inhibitors by targeting more types of ALK changes. The tablet makes it easy to take the medicine, and you only need to take it once a day, which makes sure you don’t forget to take your medicine.
