Elacestrant is a selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD) designed for the treatment of ER /HER2breast cancer. It works by getting rid of some stuff called ER signaling. You can get this drug in two doses: one is 86 mg and the other is 345 mg, both in the form of tablets with a special coating.
For grown-ups, they usually suggest taking the 345 mg pill once a day, and it’s best to do it with some food. Each bottle has enough tablets for about a month, with 30 pills in there. Elacestrant’s main ingredient is designed to go after something called the estrogen receptor.
It stops the hormone from sticking to it, which messes with how the cancer cells grow. This medicine is meant to be used with other treatments for breast cancer where the cancer cells have a thing called a hormone receptor. It’s often used for folks who’ve had a certain kind of therapy before.
