Vemurafenib is a medication made just for treating BRAF V600E-mutant melanoma, a type of skin cancer. It works by inhibiting BRAF, which is like it stops a pathway in the cells that cause them to grow out of control. The drug comes in these tablets that have a coating, and each one has 240 mg of the main stuff in it.
You’re supposed to take 960 mg of the stuff two times a day, like the doc says. You can take this dose with or without eating. The pills come in bottles with 112 tablets inside each.
That’s 224 grams of the medicine all together in one bottle. Patients need to stick to what their doctor tells them about how long they should take it and how they should use the medicine.
