Dacomitinib is a special medicine for treating lung cancer. It’s for people with certain changes in their EGFR gene. It treats mutations like deleted exon 19 or the L858R change in the 21st exon of the EGFR gene.
The medicine stops the EGFR from doing something called tyrosine kinase. This keeps the EGFR from sending signals. You can get it in three strengths: 15, 30, and 45 mg.
They usually tell you to take the 45 mg tablet every day. The pills have a coating, and each bottle has 30 of them.
