Mitotane is a drug that helps treat adrenocortical cancer by damaging the adrenal glands. The way it works is by shutting down the adrenal glands. The drug comes in 500 mg tablets.
You usually start with 2 to 6 grams a day, broken up into smaller amounts. The dose can be adjusted depending on how the patient deals with it. It’s sold in bottles with 100 pills each.
