Tivozanib is a type of inhibitor that targets VEGFRs, like VEGFR-1, VEGFR-2, and VEGFR-3. It’s made to stop these receptors from doing their thing, which can lead to cancer growing and spreading, like in kidney cancer. Tivozanib is a pill, and it comes in doses of either 890 micrograms or 1.34 milligrams.
For adults with late-stage kidney cancer, the doc usually says to take 1.34 milligrams a day for 21 days straight, then take a week off. You keep doing this cycle every four weeks. You can take the pills with or without eating.
Each bottle has 21 pills, just enough for one full cycle.
