Elacestrant is a selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD), effective for estrogen receptor-positive (ER /HER2breast cancer). How it works? It kind of ruins the signal stuff. They give you this drug in two strengths: 86 mg and 345 mg.
The doctors usually suggest taking 345 mg of it every day with food. You’ll find this drug in bottles that contain 30 pills with a coating on them. So, one pill helps to zap those cancer cells that need estrogen to grow by turning off those hormone signals.
Elacestrant also breaks down better than other estrogen things you swallow. It works best if you have certain changes in your genes like no BRCA1 or BRCA2, or specific proteins and other mutations. What makes Elacestrant different? It really messes with the estrogen-dependent areas in a way that kills cancer cells unlike other ER modulators.
