Erdafitinib is a special kind of drug. It’s made to stop a protein called FGFR from doing its thing. This is important for treating a type of cancer that spreads in the cells lining the bladder.
It’s mainly for cancers that have been changed in certain FGFR2 or FGFR3 genes. This stuff is good at stopping a group of signals called FGFR, which help some cancers grow. You can get these tablets in three sizes—3, 4, and 5 milligrams—and they’re all got that shiny, coated stuff on them.
Doctors usually start people off with 8 milligrams of this stuff every day, but if they need a bit more, they might go up to 9. You’ll find these tablets in bottles, and each one has 56 of ’em, all nicely coated.
