Anagrelide is a medication used to treat essential thrombocythemia, which is a condition with too many platelets in the blood. It works by keeping the big cells called megakaryocytes from growing up, which helps lower platelet counts. You can get Anagrelide in capsules, and each one’s a 0.5 mg size.
You start with 0.5 mg four times a day. But the doctor might tweak it up or down based on how you’re doing and if you’re feeling any side effects. Each bottle comes with a hundred of those little capsules.
